Overview

Human Resources is responsible for the security of and access to employees' Human Resources personnel files.

Policy Details

Managers may review the personnel file of those employees in their areas of responsibility in the presence of a Human Resources staff member. A current employee may review his/her personnel file in the presence of a Human Resources staff member. Managers and current employees should schedule an appointment with Human Resources Data Services in order to review file(s). No material may be removed or copied from the file.

If a department receives a request from an attorney or other outside agency for employee records or personnel files, the request should be forwarded to Human Resources Data Services.
